I think there is a treatment you can do to your yard to get rid of them

There is this powder you can put out on your grass (if it rains you’ll have to reapply) and it dehydrates the tick I just heard about this and the thing I loved about it is that there are no harmful chemicals…

There seems to be an unusually large amount in Lakewood this year. My husband got two ticks in the past week , and hasn’t been playing in the grass….lol

It’s definitely a great idea to spray your lawn but I’d suggest using one of the ‘Off’ sprays that protect your family from ticks when going elsewhere , like to parks or if your kids go to play at friends yards

I dont know how to prevent them but, if you find a tick on you or your child get the tick tested for lime disease. if a child gets lime disease it can go untreated for a while because it gets easily misdiagnosed. Do you self a favor go out of the way to test the tick then have to deal with the symptoms of lime disease. I know way to many people who got the disease and really suffered from it.
