Since we moved into our house 3 yrs ago there had always been one room that was never complete. But now that my youngest is almost ready to transition to a bed (in other words not really ready because he will prob jump out of it and never sleep) we decided to get things rolling.
Welcome to the most inviting room in our house! The family room is for “couch potatoe-ing” and doubles as a playroom for the main floor!
The purposes of this room are completely informal and the decor definitely reflects that! We started by painting the wall and closets black and white and going with all black seating. Everything beyond that was about color. The contrast adds to the fun and drama.
You know how they say eyes are the windows to your soul…so your front door is the window to your home.
Painting your front door black can raise the selling price of your home by six thousand dollars. Point being that a simple coat of paint and some charming touches can add a lot of value and curbside appeal to your house!
Getting the toys organized was on a bucket list of mine and I feel super accomplished now that it’s done.
In the excitement of it all I forgot to snap a before picture…. But it got me thinking how you can’t have an after without a before…. Like with all things in life that we can only appreciate once we’ve experienced the void or pain.
So no shame in before pictures (whether its of closets or of our lives) as long as we are striving for the after!
I speak to myself when I say I feel like we forget to appreciate our normal lives…
We are so busy preparing planning and waiting for Holidays, vacations and special events that we forget to celebrate our daily lives! So today I dedicate this post to living in the moment and making the most of every day.
“You never get a second chance to make a first impression”– So it’s perfectly understandable to want that WOW factor right across your doorpost! In this post I’ve put together a few entryway sets in different styles. I personally love the glamour of the gold and the sophistication of the chrome. (Each photo is linked so if you click on a specific item it will magically open on your screen;)
Feel free to mix and match from differentsets and add your personal touch- after all it’s your doorway!
